Free QR code generator, no sign-up
Create a QR code for a link, a Wi-Fi network, a business card, an email or an SMS, and download it straight away as PNG or SVG. No account, no watermark, no expiry. Everything is computed by your browser: the data you type is never sent to any server.
Create your QR code
Pick a type, fill in the fields and download. The code updates as you type.
This is a static QR code: the data lives inside the code, so it works forever and even offline, but once printed it cannot be changed and it does not count scans.
What you can generate
- Link — the most common destination: a website, a social profile, a PDF, a product page, a map.
- Text — a message that appears directly on the phone without opening anything. Useful for instructions, serial numbers or short notices.
- Wi-Fi — network name, password and security type. Guests connect with one tap, without typing anything.
- Business card (vCard) — name, phone, email, company and website saved straight into the contacts app.
- Email — opens the mail client with recipient, subject and body already filled in.
- SMS — opens the messaging app with number and text ready to send.
- Phone — starts a call to the number you choose.
Why generating in the browser matters
Most online generators send your data to their server, which builds the image and sends it back. For a public link that hardly matters. But when you are encoding your home Wi-Fi password or the personal contacts on a vCard, you are handing that data to a company you know nothing about.
This generator works differently: the code is computed by JavaScript running on your own device. There is no network request carrying your content, and you can verify it yourself by opening your browser's network panel while you generate a code. It is also why it keeps working once the page has loaded, even with no connection.
PNG or SVG?
| PNG | SVG | |
|---|---|---|
| Image type | Pixel based | Vector |
| Scaling up | Blurs beyond its size | Sharp at any size |
| Best for | Web, social, small and medium prints | Professional printing, large format, signage |
| Compatibility | Universal | Excellent, though some print shops reject it |
In short: send the SVG to a print shop or use it for anything large. For everything else, PNG at 1024 px is more than enough.
Static or dynamic: which one do you need?
The difference is not code quality, which is identical. It is what happens after printing.
| Feature | Static (this page) | Dynamic |
|---|---|---|
| Sign-up required | No | Yes |
| Editable after printing | No | Yes |
| Scan statistics | No | Yes |
| Works without a connection | Yes | No |
| Depends on a running service | No, works forever | Yes |
Rule of thumb: if the content will never change — a Wi-Fi password, a phone number, a fixed text — a static QR code is the right choice and there is no reason to sign up anywhere. If the destination may change, or you want to know how many people scan it, you need a dynamic one.
Five rules for a QR code that actually works
- Do not print it too small. Below 2 cm per side, scanning gets unreliable. For signage, a good rule is: QR side roughly one tenth of the scanning distance.
- Do not invert the colours. The modules must be darker than the background. A light code on a dark background is rejected by many cameras.
- Keep the quiet zone. The white border around the code is part of the standard: readers need it to isolate the symbol.
- Say what is behind it. One line of text next to the code ("Scan for the menu") measurably increases scans compared to a bare QR.
- Test before printing. On the final material, with at least two different phones, in poor light.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to sign up?
No. This generator works without an account and without limits: create the code, download it as PNG or SVG, and use it. An account is only needed for dynamic QR codes.
Is there a watermark or an expiry date?
No watermark, no forced logo, no expiry. It is a standard QR code holding your data directly, so it will keep working forever, even if FacileQR no longer existed.
Is my data sent to a server?
No. The code is computed by your browser on your device: Wi-Fi passwords, vCard contacts and text never leave your computer or phone.
Which types can I create?
Link, plain text, Wi-Fi network, vCard business card, email with prefilled subject and message, prefilled SMS, and phone number.
PNG or SVG for printing?
SVG when your print shop accepts it: it is vector based and stays sharp at any size. PNG at 1024 or 2048 px is fine for small and medium prints and for digital use.
Can I change the link after printing?
Not with a static QR code like this one: the link is written inside the design. Changing the destination after printing requires a dynamic QR code.
